Our family has had the enormous privilege of sharing our spare room with 16 vulnerable kids and young people over the last 21 years. Over time, we have come to see this service opportunity as our social legacy – our way to positively impact the places where we live… to, in our own way, leave things better than we found them.
So when I heard about SOS Children’s Villages in Spring 2019, I was floored by what they do and our common mission. This 70-year old non-profit organization is the largest in the world that cares for abandoned children. They build families for children in need, helping shape their futures and sharing in the development of their communities. In fact, across 135 countries, SOS supports over 570 villages, helping 600,000 kids and their families.
I joined the board of SOS a few months later and soon after, had the opportunity to visit one of our villages in person. What an incredible model! That’s why I’ve committed to donate all proceeds from my book to SOS Children’s Village. So when you buy a book, you not only receive a book, you’ll also be helping a child land in a loving home.
