A few days ago, I shared the poem, And the people stayed home. The poet references “listening more deeply,” which resonated with me.
This has been one of my personal realizations on our #mobilebiosphere experience. This post is a little soul-baring, as it’s something I really should have internalized earlier. Frankly, I feel a little embarrassed about it. But I hope my sharing encourages another to reflect on how you might adjust your own style, allowing those around you to feel recognized, heard and appreciated.
With those who need time to process what they want to say (like both my husband and daughter), I am learning to create space for them. Settling into the silence until they feel ready to share.
These are becoming some of my favorite moments on this adventure.
What are you realizing in your social distancing or self-isolation?
